Not heating
Heating elements, gas igniters and valve coils, thermal fuses and thermostats are the usual suspects when a dryer tumbles but stays cold.
Takes too long to dry
Long dry times are often caused by a restricted vent, a failing heat source, or a sensor problem.
Won't start or won't tumble
Door switches, start switches, broken belts, idler pulleys and motors can all keep the drum from turning.
Squealing, thumping or grinding
Worn drum rollers, glides, idler pulleys and belts are common sources of noise.
Shuts off mid-cycle
Overheating from a blocked vent or a failing motor can make a dryer stop before the cycle ends.

Newer dryers display codes for vent blockage, sensors and heat problems. Note the code before calling.
Clean vents matter more in the desert heat
Dryers work harder when exhaust has to push hot air through long or lint-clogged vent runs. A restricted vent slows drying and is a known fire risk, so we'll point it out if we find one.

Before You Call
A few quick checks can save you a service call - and if they don't solve it, the information helps our technician.
- Clean the lint screen and check that the outside vent flap opens when the dryer runs.
- Check the breaker. Electric dryers use a double breaker and can lose heat if only one side trips.
- For gas dryers, confirm the gas supply valve is open.
- Note the brand, model number (usually inside the door) and any error code.

Do you repair gas dryers?
Yes, we repair both gas and electric dryers. If you ever smell gas, leave the area and call your gas utility or 911 from outside before calling for repair.
Why does my dryer take two cycles to dry?
The most common cause is restricted airflow from a clogged vent. It can also be a heating component that's partly failing. A technician can check both.
Can you service dryers in a laundromat?
